Marketing with Bloggers

I want to introduce a new program here at Freemycure.org Marketing with Bloggers.  Bloggers OMG not them, they write about what they want, they don’t always finish a thought, and can they be controlled by an outside company or can they?

I started Free My Cure over a year ago for the one fact that when looking information up online is geared towards the recreational user and the younger user but what about the patient user.  The Medical Marijuana user varies from children that use to control seizures to the Senior Citizen that uses cannabis for pain, dementia, or cancer.  Whatever your illness or condition cannabis has been proven to aid in curing or at the very least relief from symptoms that disrupt your life.

As a cancer patient that has beaten cancer 3 times and currently fighting for my own life once again cannabis has been invaluable to me, not just because of the opioid pandemic today and I was addicted to opioids, but because it has allowed me the opportunity to say goodbye to 90% of my own medications with Doctors approval of course, and I have a 20 % cancer cell reduction.  20%, isn’t much considering, however, in the last year I have been able to get out of bed and help others, I have been able t start up my writing again, and making video’s catering to the proper use of cannabis.

Free My Cure will be posting a new highlighted patient stories every month showing medicinal use at it’s finest. Cannabis has been a taboo subject for many years, it’s time it came out of the closet.  There are always going to be haters out there protesting cannabis and trying to keep refer madness alive, however as we stand together we are seeing major changes in 2018, and the public opinion is changing on the stigma of cannabis users.

When I talk to companies about marketing, I was in marketing for 15 years, I try to explain the benefits of using bloggers to reach their audience.  Bloggers like me are not here to bully or hurt any company we are here t aid them in education, we want to help aid in the legalization of cannabis as well as teach the specifics of cannabis strains by doing weed reviews.  Bloggers weed reviews are extremely helpful to any company because it’s an impartial review, letting the patients know what to expect from using the medication, also how your product difference from another.  When I do a review I photograph the product, I put together a full video using the product, explaining how it affected me and how it medically helped my symptoms.  I then do a complete write-up and post it on my website, all my social media pages and channels (equaling 75K subscribers), for outstanding reviews will also be published in Weed World Magazine, as well as public appearances and events.

I am stuck between a rock and a hard space, I have a major event coming up, and with all permissions approved, I am going to need a cannabis caregiver or dispensary to donate products for a 5-day event in April 2018.  I am legally going to be smoking and educating the public about cannabis and cannabis products. We will be doing live video, photos, meet and greets, with celebrity appearances and so much more plus the entire article will be published in the next edition of Weed World Magazine with cultivators highlights. Want to get your product in front of millions of people, want to get your product into a magazine look no further… That’s what I do.

I only have a week to get fully prepared so please reach out now! My non-profit is freemycure.org we are a non-profit that helps teach cannabis education to patients that haven’t tried it or anyone that needs this type of services I write for Weed World Magazine and I have full permissions to smoke in public at an upcoming event and write about it, showing different responsible and discrete ways of medicating, because I’m a terminal cancer patient I can’t go out in public much and when I do I have to be careful and can’t go without pain management. Cannabis is my pain management and I’m truly excited for this opportunity, this article is the first of its kind here in Arizona or anywhere really allowing the use of cannabis in public while filming and teaching the benefits that cannabis allows me. With cannabis I am no longer stuck in bed, I’ve quit all opioids, and I’m loving the person I’ve become.

As A dispensary or caregiver that decides to join me on this journey, you will have a full write up on my website freemycure.org with pictures, weed reviews, and live videos, as well as a full, write up in Weed World Magazine. I look forward to talking with all of you and discussing the future, as a terminal cancer patient I never thought I had a future now thanks to cannabis I know I got this. Thank you

My Opioid Addiction

[et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.0.47″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” _i=”0″ _address=”0.0″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.105″ background_layout=”light”]

Hi, my name is Nicola Dickens and I want to share my struggle with opioids.  I honestly can’t remember when it happened exactly, I had been struggling off and on with opioid pain medication since the early 90’s.  It was different back then, if you had a chronic illness that was painful they handed out pain medications like they were candy, and I don’t really think they thought it would become as much of a problem as it has, (hence the word thought) it was all about making the patient comfortable in those days.

When I was first diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis, Interstitial Cystitis is a bladder condition that causes small cyst-like pockets to line the entire inside of the bladder, these cyst breaks like an ulcer would and as the bladder becomes infected it causes the urethra to spasm and close, not allowing urine to pass and it’s very painful.  At one point in time, I was given prescriptions for 120 diazepam and 70 Percocet a month, that’s a lot I know both highly addictive medications.  When the disease is in full force I can visibly see the blood in my urine, it is very painful especially if the bladder is full and won’t void (pass urine) and it causes urine to back up into my kidneys among many other side effects.  When this happens I am normally hospitalized and left on a catheter for the entire stay, then I’m sent home with a Foley which is basically a catheter that straps to your leg with a bag attached to catch the urine.

Did these medications contribute to the decline in my health I’m sure it did, however Big Pharma isn’t the only blame, because of my opioid abuse I put more stress on my body by abusing the medication, and this is why I started Free My Cure.  As an educated woman still learning, I’ve learned I have so much more to learn, I did abuse the medications I had no control and that’s on me however my question remains if opioids are dangerous, which I believe they can be, why is the propaganda against cannabis still alive today?

Fear… fear kept me away from cannabis until 3 years ago, I found a glimpse of hope when I first started cannabis.  Three years ago I was tired, and honestly done fighting I might as well have been dead already because that’s how I lived or rather didn’t live.  Taking that first step towards cannabis was the scariest thing I ever did and what I was honestly afraid of was losing my opioids, they became my crutch even when I really didn’t need them I still took them.  So yes, addiction will whisper in your ear telling you it will make the pain in your heart or head go away when all it really does is exaggerate it.

When I first started pain meds I was a minor and I was never taught about addiction certainly not opioid danger and the dangers of getting addicted to opioids so I though as so many people do, pain medication is supposed to take away the pain it’s given by the doctor so it’s safe, and then my famous excuse a little helped more will be better (this is the addiction talking if you have these though often please seek help).  When in fact it’s only supposed to relieve the pain, pain medication doesn’t take all the pain away and it’s not supposed to it’s to help reduce the pain to make your life better.

Since recognizing my addiction my relationship with my hubby has gotten better, I feel better, and I have a better relationship with my own health.  It sounds odd to say “having a good relationship with your own health,” but it’s true we abuse our own bodies every day by in taking unhealthy things, by mentally torturing ourselves, by surrounding ourselves with toxic people, and with this disposable mentality, if we don’t want to deal with something we throw it away.

Addiction is scary, being sick is scary, and doing new things is scary, so I challenge all of us to try something new, really listen to an opposing view not to defend but understand, walk in someone else’s shoes for 5 minutes when you see their fears you can understand them and you better.  I’m closing the article with a quote from my mom “Don’t judge a book by its cover because the layers below may be more beautiful than I could ever understand or comprehend”.

The Art of Customer Service, is it Dead or just MIA

[et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.0.47″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” _i=”0″ _address=”0.0″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.105″ background_layout=”light”]

Customer service today has gone through many changes over the years, however, in the eyes of some major corporation’s customer service is missing in action.  Today with social media and pretty much anything you are looking for you can find on the internet, brand name or generic, order it and it arrives in the mail sometime within the same day without ever talking to a person.  On large sites such as Amazon and EBay, they give an option to rate the seller, but this really isn’t the customer service I’m meaning.

Large corporations such as Direct TV, Verizon, AT&T, and most other “utility” companies have moved to recording all calls for training purposes, to cover their ass, and to reference the call whenever they need to refer to it, but what about the consumer.  If you ask any one of these companies to allow the consumer to access to these recording the answer is always no, the reasoning as to why the consumer can’t reference a call that they are personally on, vary by company.  The question still remains what happened to customer service.  After several abusive conversations with the company’s customer service representatives, I decided to start recording my conversations with them and I highly recommend you do the same, if you tell them you are recording them they will hang up on you, or insist that you turn it off then they will continue the conversation, the workaround is only one individual on the phone call must be aware that it is being recorded (this law is applicable in Arizona but please check your local laws).

I have been a Direct TV customer for several years and back in October of 2017, we started having issues with our service.  The DVR had been malfunctioning or the mainframe structures failing causing the DVR to continually try to update the system and fail, it reminds me of a virus allowing the DVR to do its own thing.

In October 2017 our DVR started only recording the first 10 minutes of a show, then it failed and stopped recording, this was happening to 1 out of 14 recordings each week, it also started to record random shows we didn’t set up to record, like a ghost in the machine (also reminding me of a virus).  The problems then started to affect the genie boxes, every time I went to power up one of the genies I had to power up the DVR, then I would have to go back to the DVR turn it off, this was the only way to turn on the genie boxes and allow them to connect to the service.  Several shows I set to record never recorded, ie Shifting Gears with Aaron Kauffmann, on a side note, I was also informed by direct tv that some programs CAN’T be recorded, I have yet to view this program.

My complaint, however, doesn’t end there since October 2017 I have not received what I paid for, when I call the company and ask for help they treated me like a second rate citizen even calling me a puta, they yelled and screamed and one gentleman at this company, didn’t care about the problem and I quote “you women really need to be controlled by your husbands.”  Before hanging up on me.  This company has lied to me repeatedly saying really stupid things that aren’t true ie “We don’t have a retention department, however, I have spoken directly to their retention Department on several occasions, telling me this is a bold face lie.

I pay on average 250 to 300 dollars a month for my satellite, I am a terminal cancer patient that stays home, the TV is my escape to help me tune out the pain, nausea, and depression I fight with on a daily basis, I completely understand that the tv isn’t a life or death situation but I expect to get what I pay for as would anyone.

The retention department has already said they have maxed out on any credit they gave us (however they took the credit they issued us because “the technician came out and said there was nothing he could do it’s in the programming”).

After 10 years of service, they informed me they are sorry to see me go, however, there is nothing they can do I am just supposed to pay full price and deal with it.  I spent 3 hours the other day crying because of how mean they have been and I may be sensitive but I can’t handle the stress.  Stress makes me sicker I haven’t been able to keep food down, in my delicate situation, as of which I informed them of, stress puts me in the hospital.  I am dying and I don’t need anyone to feel sorry for me I just want what I pay for, is that too much to ask for?

Thursday, March 22 I had had enough, and I called Dish Network, I told them what had happened and I wanted to change providers, they were amazing the lady on the phone was actually from Arizona and very helpful, so helpful she had a technician to my house the next morning setting up the service.  The Technician that came out was great, very helpful, very nice, I couldn’t have asked for better service.  After the tech left, I felt it was my duty to call his supervisor and let him know just how great everything went and to thank him I even said the tech deserves a raise.

People in today’s age forget that we are all different, they hear a voice over the phone and they don’t know anything about that person and they assume, a problem is called in and if that particular technician hadn’t heard about the problem they will argue saying the consumer is incorrect.  One prime example is when I was talking to the direct tv tech and he said we called engineering concerning a problem and the AT&T engineers said it was fixed, I happened to overhear this conversation because the direct TV tech was sitting in my living room, as we were witnessing the problem persist, Yes the engineer lied to their own technician.  The direct TV retention department even went as far to argue with me about picking up their equipment.  I have several pieces of equipment I have been trying to give back to them, now for about a year, however, it’s like pulling teeth.  The dish network technician witnessed this shaking his head couldn’t believe how hard the gentleman made it just to give them back their equipment and sadly I still have the equipment because I believe that electronics need to be recycled not thrown in landfills.

I am extremely thankful to Dish Network for making this transition stress free for me, stress isn’t good for people in my condition, none of us are going to make it out of this life alive… take it from a terminal cancer patient Live like today could be your last, love like those no one else, and remember none of us can do this alone.

Federally Legalize Medical Cannabis, regulate it, and allocate the funds to protect Schools

[et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.0.47″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” _i=”0″ _address=”0.0″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.105″ background_layout=”light” border_style=”solid”]

Hi, guys welcome back to Free My Cure I’m Nicola and today I want to share some of my personal thoughts on cannabis and life.

I was first diagnosed with cancer when I was 19 years old, I remember it as if it was yesterday, it was scary, confusing, and an emotional roller coaster.  This was when my addiction to opioids first started, it was the 90’s and doctors prescribed opioids like it was water.  I, like so many others, needed to control the pain to survive, to work, and to heal, by the time I realized, 24 years later, that I slept walked through my life, fogged up by pills, I thought it was too late.  My body at 42 years old had served me with an eviction notice, my life was coming to an end and I was terrified.

My kids and my husband talked some sense into me, I’ve never been a quitter, why was I giving up on life.  With the help of my husband and cannabis we beat my addiction, I started feeling better as I smoked or ingested edibles.  This also jumpstarted my brain, I dove into cannabis research.  I found books, websites, and videos with so much educational material, I even started reaching out to caregivers and other experts to learn from them.  I then started working with cultivators across the world learning the different strains, uses, dosing, and how to properly supplement the plants so they are high yields with very low carcinogens.

Now I’m 43 years old living on borrowed time, I bleed from my intestines and bladder all the time now and I take up to 4 grams of RSO oil a day to control the pain, to help me with my appetite and keep the food I eat down, keep the shakes and earthquakes in my head under control, and mostly take the anxiety and depression away so I can help others.  I went to school in the medical industry because I wanted to help people, save lives, and end some of this needless suffering and to allow chronically ill a better quality of life so they don’t have to worry about controlling their pain.

As a terminal cancer patient I don’t have the luxury of time, I’m out of time and so are so many others, by legalizing medicinal cannabis on a federal level here in the United States we have a chance to regulate a cash industry and allocate funds to protect our schools with things like metal detectors, allocate funds for our veterans.  Our veterans need our help as well, some of the federal tax monies can be allocated to teach and employ our veterans in our schools to help safeguard and protect our children.   This allows for new revenue to build our communities, protect our children and give us a second chance at life without pulling monies away from programs that need it to survive.

I am asking all of you to share this write your own letters to the attorney general’s office, your congressmen, and representatives if we can save one life, help one person overcome addiction, change 1 cancer patients quality of life we will have won.  Cancer, pain, PTSD, and so many other conditions can be improved with the medicinal use of cannabis, a plant that grows wild has changed my life for the better and I believe in my heart federally legalizing and regulating cannabis can start this country on a new fresh clean footing allowing all of us the opportunity to conquer our dreams.
